In the gothic chapel are the tomb sculptures portraits sculptures?

Sometimes they are. If the person was very very rich he or she might have commissioned the tomb during his lifetime. However, most are guesses at what the person looked like as they might be done a good while after and commissioned by descendants of that person. And sometimes the sculptor had access to portrait paintings.
